same but different

Solid dish soap isn't just a sustainable compromise. The main ingredient in liquid dish soaps is water and the main active ingredient is detergent.  While detergent has good qualities it comes at a cost. Solid dish soap is an eco-friendly replacement without the negative effects.

caring is key

keep your bar away from water
Nothing will make your soap disintegrate faster than keeping it wet. Avoid storing your soap in a place that is constantly in contact with water, like in the direct stream of the shower.

let your bar air dry
The more time your soap spends completely dry, the longer it will last. Allow the bar to air dry out its moisture after each use.

store your bar in a properly draining dish
A wire rack, bamboo soap dish, or a self-draining soap dish is a must. Soap dishes without drainage keep the moisture longer and will make it harder for your soap to dry out in between uses. Find our favorite dishes here!

use a washcloth instead of your hands
Skin is less able to produce and retain lather than other materials. Using a washcloth, soap saver bag, or eco-friendly loofah can help your bar last longer.
